User Permissions

Administrators set up users with either Read-Only or Read-Write permissions for Active Workpapers.

Read-Only

An administrator may enter the dataset parameter, AWP_WRITE with a paramvalue of 0 to make Active Workpapers Read-Only for a Read/Write user.

Read-Write

An administrator may enter the dataset parameter, AWP_WRITE with a paramvalue of 1 to make Active Workpapers Read-Write for a Read/Only user.

Note: If a Read/Write user does not have permission to access all of the datasets or units in an Active Workpaper that Active Workpaper opens as read-only. If a user attempts to access datasets or units without the proper permissions, a message appears Workpaper contains 1 or more Datasets or Units to which you do not have access. Please contact your Administrator.

Multiple Users

Multiple users can edit the same Active Workpapers at the same time. Any changes made to an Active Workpapers cannot be seen by other users until the Active Workpapers is saved.
If you open an Active Workpapers that is already opened by another user the message appears A user currently has this Active Workpapers open for modification. Changes that have been made by this user during the time period in which they have have it open are not reflected in the Active Workpapers you have open. Also, changes made to an Active Workpapers while open by multiple users will overwrite each other. You can click OK to open and work with the Active Workpapers or Cancel to Abort.
