Parameters

Administrators can use Parameters to configure an instance of the application to make certain functionality, such as calculations and report views available. The four types of parameters are System, Dataset, Unit Dataset and Unit State Dataset.

System parameters are set up in Manage Restricted Features and Manage Configurations.

Manage Restricted Features are parameters that administrators can set up in Administration. Administrators can export categories from Administration, update the exported file with the parameter information within the #PD# parameter sheet and then import that file. Administrators can save the file as .xls, or .xlsx.

Administrators can use Manage Configurations to select parameters from a list of organized pages in order to activate additional functionality within the application.

Dataset Parameters are set up in Data Entry within Dataset Administration, Federal Administration and State Administration. Administrators can set up parameters for a dataset within Dataset Parameters, for a unit within Unit Dataset Parameters or for a state within Unit State Dataset Parameters.

Notes:

Dataset parameters affect data at the dataset level.
Unit parameters affect data at the unit level, only.
State parameters affect data at the state level, only.
System parameters affect data within the entire application.
